Overview
Imam Khomeini hospital, formerly known as Razi Hospital, is a government-funded medical institution located in the centre of Ilam City. It was established in 1932 and currently is part of Ilam University of Medical Sciences.
It serves as the teaching hospital for the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, and Faculty of Allied Medicine, Ilam University of Medical Sciences and is the largest and oldest teaching hospital in Ilam city, Iran.
Imam Khomeini Hospital is a national and regional referral centre for trauma, general surgeries, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, vascular surgery subspecialty, plastic surgery subspecialty, maxillofacial subspecialty, and pediatric care. All physicians on staff at the flagship hospital are faculty physicians of the Ilam University of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine. As an academic medical centre, Imam Khomeini Hospital participates in cutting-edge research and clinical trials, which gives patients access to the newest treatments.
